garlic cheddar biscuits

last night i had a random craving for garlic bread.  unfortunately we didn’t have any bread in the apartment and it would definitely take too long to make some bread.  then i remembered that a while ago i had found a recipe for garlic cheddar biscuits.  they are supposed to be like the biscuits you get at red lobster.  i’ve never been to red lobster but if they serve biscuits like these i’ll have to check it out.  they were delicious!  i used extra sharp cheddar and fresh garlic instead of garlic powder which worked great.  they were light and fluffy yet rich and buttery.  amazing!  they were quick and easy and definitely satisfied by craving for garlic bread.

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Stir in milk and 1/2 cup butter just until moistened. Add Cheese.
  4. Drop batter by tablespoon on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Meanwhile, add garlic salt to remaining melted butter.
  6. Bake biscuits for 6 minutes.
  7. Remove biscuits, drizzle with garlic butter and return to oven for another 6-7 minutes, or edges are golden.
  8. After removing from oven but while still warm drizzle with garlic butter again.
