my big fat chocolate chip cookies

by far, these big fat chocolate chip cookies are chris’ absolute favorite cookies.  whenever he asks me to make cookies, i don’t even have to ask what kind.  i already know to make these big ol’  chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies. they are wonderfully soft and chewy cookies with perfect crispy edges.  absolutely amazing.

oh and if you don’t feel like making humongous cookies, don’t worry i’ve used this recipe to make normal sized ones and it works great.

a quick note, they do tend to get crumbly after a few days even if kept in an airtight container.  chris (with a little help from me) usually doesn’t have too much trouble getting through a batch in time but a trick that helps if it does get a little more crumbly than you would like – microwave the cookie for just 10-15 and it’s good as new.

the cookie dough comes together quickly, especially if you have a stand mixer.

use a 1/4 cup cookie scoop or measuring cup to measure and scoop out the cookie dough.

bake them up and let them cool just a little bit before you bite into the most delicious chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie you’ve ever had.

so good!

(6/25/13: i updated the pictures on this post because i took new ones for a cookbook we made as favors for our wedding guests.)

flour

today we went to costco for a massive grocery shopping trip.  i needed more flour because i’ve been doing so much baking.  i figured it would be more affordable to just get a big bag of flour from costco instead of getting normal ones from the grocery store.  well, it definitely was a lot cheaper to get 25 lbs. of flour for $6.99.  but 25 lbs!  i didn’t quite realize how BIG the bags of flour would be at costco.
